About the project Global Generation
Education in development cooperation for committed people and all those who want to take part...
Global Generation
What connects us with southern Africa?
Lifetime experiences are quite different – nevertheless similarities between people who live far or even very far away from each other can also be found. The three-year EU-Project (2010-2012) Global Generation takes a look at South Africa, Hungary, Austria and Germany.
We ask for the connection of our biographies: Where do we find similarities and how do our experiences differ? And what can we learn from each other?
What makes Global Generation special?
- besides trainings for multipliers we offer specific
- workshops for people aged over 50 years, moreover we create
- teaching material dealing with global education for the age-group 50+
- a touring exhibition is en route in Germany, Austria, Hungary and South Africa and
- in numerous public events we focus on the topics sustainability and commitment for a juster world in many different ways
In our workshop series for people aged over 50 years we deal, among other things, with different focus topics annually:
2010: How do experiences of war influence us until today?
2011: How did we react to big social changes like the end of Apartheid or the fall of the Berlin wall in 1989?
2012: Children move away, old people stay. What does this mean for the future of our villages and cities?
To our international team, the Hungarian BOSC Foundation, the two German organisations Brücke/Most-Stiftung and Weltfriedensdienst and Südwind from Austria, it is especially important that we transform the notion of global education into vibrant activities. That is why the exchange of experiences is also a topic: Trainers from southern Africa come to Europe and enrich the workshops with their South African perspectives. Another highlight of the workshop series for people aged over 50 is the meeting of all participants of the three European countries.
Take part! With us for a juster world!
