About the project
Global Generation
Development Education for committed people and everyone who wants to take part
To build on the experiences of older people and to integrate them into a communication process between the global South and North. That is one of the goals of the project Global Generation.
The triannual project will be organised by the partners Weltfriedensdienst, the foundation Brücke/Most-Stiftung, Südwind Austria and BOCS from Hungary. All activities will be carried out by the organisations in the different countries in the same manner.
The main element of the project is the course Global Perspectives - What Connects us with Africa?
The course addresses people aged 50 or above in rural areas. During five workshops per year the participants approach global themes with the help of their own biographies and lay the basis for a long-term commitment.
The course will be partly led by trainers from South Africa. The trainers will enrich the course with an African perspective and will report from their work and their methods at the partner organisations STEPS and Sinani - Programme for Survivors of Violence.
Together we will create an exhibition of biographies from older people in South and North which will be touring through Europe and the southern Africa.
In a course, multipliers get practical methods at hand how they can work towards more sustainability in their living environment.
In numerous public events, information will be given on methods and projects of development and peace-educational work from the global South and North. In this way we want to encourage to more commitment to sustainability and projects of development cooperation.
Global Generation will be co-financed by means of the European Union and the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development.
